Nutrition Therapy

NUTRITION THERAPY
It is recommended that all of our patients with diabetes have an annual visit/session with our diabetes educators and/or the nutritionist to review their nutritional therapy for their disease process to make sure that optimal results are achieved and the medication dosage is also optimized. This is also a recommendation from the American Diabetes Association, which we follow.

Our staff of diabetes educators and nutritionist are certified and follow the American Diabetes Association guidelines in recommending medical nutritional therapy.

Weight management:

Our staff is also well versed in recommending appropriate diet control where weight management is an issue and they are also available for consultation for patients who do not see providers at the clinic and come to see the nutritionist for medical nutritional therapy.

The nutritional therapy that one can consider getting an appointment or recommendation for are:

  • Low glycemic index diet.
  • American Diabetes Association Diet.
  • Learning carbohydrate counting.
  • Advanced carbohydrate counting.
  • Celiac disease/gluten-free diet.
  • Hypoallergenic diet.
  • Renal diet.
